Memorise is a collaborative performance we created in 2018 with Belgian dancer Vakulya Zoltán. Using a unique material—water calligraphy paper—we combined new media and dance to explore the theme of “the passage of time.”

Overview

When we put water on the paper, transparent water will turn into a black track. According to this feature, we make a performance to show the “Time”.

Stage Design

We used two projectors to stitch visuals and fill the main canvas. Real-time footage was projected onto the ceiling for documentation and to allow the dancer to observe his movements, while three additional projections created an immersive atmosphere. During the intensive workshop, we continuously adjusted angles and image balance, ultimately achieving a fully integrated performance and visual design.
