Blessing is an interactive projection piece that explores the act of communication between the human body and spiritual beings. Taking place across two separate realms, the work suggests that while physical contact with the divine is impossible, a subtle influence is still made possible through an unseen medium.

Concept

Rooted in Japan’s Hyakki Yagyō and Taiwan’s Taoist Jiao rituals, the work reimagines a vibrant nighttime procession. Referencing the spirit-writing ritual “Fu Luan,” it symbolizes the human desire to seek blessings and communicate with the divine, echoing the coexistence of gods and people in temple culture.
